PowerShot S95 review by Barret – Guys, this camera rocks. The settings and the features are unlike any that I have seen before. Kick butt feature is the dial on the lens like a SLR camera, but, completely customizable to be any feature you would like, from focus to you name it. another kick butt feature is the color accent which allows you to choose a object and the camera remembers the color, and turns everything else into black and white. so, if you choose blue eyes, and the rest of the persons face would then be black and white, accenting their blue eyes. I went online to try to find this camera, everyone in Illinois was sold out. I had to go to a big box, and have them locate it and ship it to me. I am at DePaul in photography class, and I am telling you this camera does more than I need for this class. I choose not to purchase a $600.00 comparable camera when all I need is this one. I paid $399.00 + $50.00 for overnight shipping. Great video recorder as well. and the best part, when I am finished I pop it in my pocket and go. Try that with a DSLR!!!!!!!!

PowerShot S95 review by Akamai22 – I am a life-long photo hobbyist with a couple of high-end Nikon DSLR and SLR cameras and a dozen Nikkor lenses, so I have clearly tried to spend my way to good pictures. My primary subjects are fast moving grandsons.
BUT, it has always been a pain to lug that stuff around, and I find myself less and less willing to deal with all the weight, bulk and possible theft issues.
So I bought the S95 “for my wife”; she loves it but I use it too and I think the fact that it’s useful to both of us is really amazing. She wants to point and shoot and to plug it straight into a PICT Bridge printer. This cameral does all this very well, as others have noted.
What amazes me about the S95 is how useful I find it… the lens is pretty fast and the colors are excellent to my eye. The manual controls are easily learned; focusing is reasonably fast in most circumstances and the focus ring is very useful.
The size is amazing and since “the best camera is the one you have with you” I get good photos in what would otherwise be “cell phone or nothing” situations.
I thought it was a good value when I bought it; it’s nearly $100 cheaper today.
The only negative is that there isn’t a lot of room for my big hands but that’s not Canon’s fault.
I really don’t see how you can go wrong with this camera.
